Extreme Associates to Relaunch Website

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Following a seven-month gestation period, Extreme Associates will relaunch its web presence next week with Extreme-2.com, company president Rob Zicari told XBiz.

“When people see the new site, they will absolutely lose their minds,” Zicari, aka Rob Black, said. The site will feature a “virtual Lizzie Borden” (performer Janet Romano, who is also Zicari’s wife) who will guide visitors through the site’s featured areas and the online store.

The site also will feature a message board, fan chat rooms and live chats with Extreme personalities Gia Paloma, Paris, Lizzie Borden and, “once in a blue moon,” Zicari himself.

Zicari said a company that designs mainstream poker and casino sites developed a proprietary database for Extreme-2, allowing anyone in the company to post updates.

“I don’t know thing one about web technology,” Zicari said, “so whenever the web kid got sick [with the soon-to-be-outdated site], we were up the creek as far as posting went.”

The new content management system, which Zicari says an orangutan could learn, has allowed him to post several hours’ worth of videos already with little effort. He said that current members of Extreme’s site will be ported seamlessly to the new version.

The company also is re-releasing the centerpiece of its “Federal Five” video collection, based on a now-dismissed obscenity case in which Zicari and Romano were charged with distributing obscene material through the mail. “Forced Entry,” which was originally distributed as a VHS tape in a blank white sleeve, will be rereleased in a two-DVD set with cover art, directors’ commentary from Zicari and Romano and a blooper reel.

“We even have the original indictment and Judge Lancaster’s dismissal of the case,” Zicari said. “Forced Entry” will be released in August.
